CMOS Sensor Inc.'s History
CMOS Sensor Inc was founded by Dr. Bill Wang, PhD to dedicate engineering expertise and collaboration to the research and design of CMOS image sensors.
Today, CMOS Sensor Inc's image sensors and modules can be found in a wide variety of applications from basic research to lunar mineral mapping, industrial quality assurance, commercial imaging, medical imaging, and consumer imaging markets.

2003 | Established a Taiwan subsidiary, CMOS Sensor Inc., to specialize in and excel on the design and development of high-speed Contact Image Sensor modules. |
2007 | CMOS Sensor Inc. successfully secured a development cooperation and production agreement for the space image sensor (space sensor) with a space program center. |
2010 | CMOS Sensor Inc. joined Taiwan Space Agency’s Formosa 5 project to develop the focal plane assembly (FPA) with CMOS sensor technology. |
2015 | Utilized space chip development experience to develop consumer chips for robotic
vacuum navigation. Expanded into the fields of robotic navigation and autonomous
LiDAR. |
2019 | CMOS Sensor Inc. met all qualifications for and passed the Verband der
Automobilindustrie (VDA) 6.3 audit, a rigorous evaluation for new product
introduction and manufacturing processes standards. |
2023 | CMOS Sensor Inc’s focus on aerospace products, customized IC design, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), and LiDAR will enhance global wellbeing in the industries of satellite aviation, intelligent inspection, biophotonics, and autonomous vehicles. |
